Drone Program at Thomas Nelson Community College
Student interns learned the intricacies of flying UAVs(Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) as part of Thomas Nelson Community College’s Drone Program. Summers at the Virginia Space Grant Consortium are busy. Our high school programs, which offer an online component, are very popular and run throughout the summer. The videos above show a glimpse of the week-long summer academies for three of our high school programs; VASTS, VESSS and Virginia Space Coast Scholars.
BLAST at Virginia Tech
At the Virginia Tech session of BLAST (Building Leaders for Advancing Science and Technology), eighth and ninth graders learned about groundwater hydrology, volcanic hazards, physics, civil and environmental engineering, biomechanics and coding.
