Wednesday was Aerospace Day at the Virginia General Assembly. Representatives from Virginia’s robust aerospace sector spent the day visiting legislators to promote economic opportunities, celebrate advancements and encourage legislative support for Aerospace in Virginia.
VSGC Director Mary Sandy and Deputy Director Chris Carter visited legislators along with Abby Dwelle, a Richmond high school senior who has participated in BLAST, Virginia Space Coast Science and Technology Scholars, Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars (VASTS) and is now in the Virginia Earth Systems Science Scholars (VESSS) program. VCU chemistry major Lilly Balderson, a participant in VSGC’s NASA Community College Research Experiences program, also participated.
