Interested in research topics that win STEM scholarships? The 2019-2020 VSGC Scholarship and Fellowship awardees and research titles have been posted to the website. There were seventy-four awardees; 33 graduate, 11 undergraduate, 25 STEM Bridge and five community college students.

Nineteen Virginia community college faculty completed the STEM Takes Flight Professional Development workshop at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s Wallops Flight Facility.

Applications are now open for the 2019 STEM Takes Flight NASA Research Experiences Program. Virginia Community College students in STEM fields with a GPA of at least 2.5 are eligible to apply.
GeoTED-UAS cohort members led a workshop on drones and incorporating UAS into the curriculum at Virginia Highlands Community College during an in-service day.
Lilly Balderson, a 2018 STEM Takes Flight participant, was named a co-inventor of a pending patent developed while she was an intern over the summer at NASA Langley.
This summer the STEM Takes Flight NASA Research Experiences program placed twenty community students at NASA Langley and three at NASA Wallops Flight Facility.
The GeoTEd-UAS Faculty Institute was hosted by Virginia Tech. Twenty faculty returned for a second year of UAS training.
