Summers at the Virginia Space Grant Consortium are incredibly busy. Our first program of the summer was the first Virginia Tech session of BLAST (Building Leaders for Advancing Science and Technology). Students in grades 8 and 9 learned about groundwater hydrology, volcanic hazards, physics, civil and environmental engineering, biomechanics and coding. They also toured the Virginia Tech helmet lab, wind tunnel and DREAMS lab. Learn more about BLAST here.
