Eligibility Requirements

These awards will be offered only to persons who, on the date of the application, are U.S. or Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or current student visa holders and officially enrolled full-time in a graduate degree program at an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution of higher learning. Proof of both may be required. Eligibility status must be maintained throughout the academic year. Candidates in master’s and doctoral programs will be evaluated separately. Applicants must submit the prescribed application form fully executed by the due date indicated.

Designation and commitment of a faculty research advisor is required. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that the faculty advisor has submitted the required documentation provided by the application system. In addition, two letters of reference are required; one must be from a faculty member or department head who knows the applicant’s work or interest in the field.

Note: The faculty research advisor is not allowed to be listed as one of the two references
