Virginia CubeSat Constellation

VCC Antenna Installation at UVA

The University of Virginia recently installed an antenna atop the Mechanical Engineering Building which, along with the corresponding radio and server, comprises the new Ground Station that will be used to receive data from the Libertas CubeSat as it orbits the Earth. Together with two other Virginia CubeSat Constellation satellites, the three-satellite constellation will be launched to the International Space Station aboard the Cygnus cargo module via the Northrop Grumman Antares rocket. They will be placed into orbit by astronauts aboard the International Space Station. The launch is set for April 17.
