Airport Management and Planning Technical Design Challenge
The following documents will be of interest to participants in the Airport Management and Planning Technical Design Challenge:
DOCUMENTS
- National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS)
Identifies more than 3,300 airports that are significant to national air transportation and thus eligible to receive Federal grants. Includes estimates of the amount of money needed to fund infrastructure development projects to bring these airports up to current design standards and add capacity to congested airports. - Formulation of the NPIAS and ACIP – Order 5090.5
This Order establishes guidelines for managing and maintaining two federal plans that are essential to airport development: the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) and the Airports Capital Improvement Plan (ACIP). The Order also discusses the FAA project database that supports these plans and its use for preparing the Secretary of Transportation’s biennial NPIAS Report. It replaces Order 5100.39A, Airports Capital Improvement Plan, and Order 5090.3, Field Formulation of the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) - Airport Master Plans, AC 150/5070-6 (AC 150/5070-6)
Provides guidance for the preparation of airport master plans that range in size and function from small general aviation to large commercial service facilities.
